Face-to-Face Classes

The Victorian School of Languages (VSL) offers a wide range of face-to-face classes at VSL Centres across metropolitan and regional areas. We provide courses in various languages from Foundation to VCE, with standards and content comparable to those in day school language classes, following a standardised course design.

Our face-to-face classes for students from Foundation to Year 12 are held outside regular school hours at VSL Centres in both metropolitan and regional locations. Most classes are scheduled on Saturday mornings, with some also available on weekday evenings. Please check local times for availability.

Who can enrol

2023-279-Victorian-School-Of-Languages-Shape-Core-RGB-Papaya-Orange

Victorian School Students

Enrolment Criteria
Students may be eligible to enrol in VSL face-to-face classes if:

  • The subject or level is not offered at their home school.
  • A timetable clash prevents the student from taking the subject at their home school.

Enrolment Procedures

  1. Check the languages offered at VSL Centres to ensure the language and level you need are available at a nearby Centre.
  2. Complete the VSL online enrolment request.
  3. Enrolment can be completed online or through the VSL Centre where the relevant language is taught.
  4. After processing the enrolment request, parents will receive an acknowledgement email with an attached form. Terms and conditions apply.

International (Overseas Full Fee Paying) Students

Enrolment Criteria
International students attending a Victorian secondary school can enrol in VSL subjects.

Enrolment Procedures

  • Government School Students: Enrolment is done online using the VISIT system provided by the International Education Division of the Department of Education and Training (DET). The International Student Coordinator (ISC) at the home school will handle the enrolment.
  • Non-Government School Students: Enrolment is done using a hard copy form, which will be available once released by the Victorian Department of Education.

International students enrolled in TAFE colleges are considered non-government school students and must pay the full course fee. Enrolment procedures and costs are determined by the International Education Division of DET.

Cost
For students attending non-government schools and TAFE colleges, the annual fee (or pro-rata by semester) must be paid upon enrolment. For government school students, fees will be deducted at their home school.

Adults

Enrolment Criteria
The VSL primarily serves school-aged students. However, some programs are available for adults. In metropolitan or regional areas, VCE classes (Year 11 Units 1&2; Year 12 Units 3&4) may include adults if vacancies exist. Adults will not be enrolled in other Melbourne-based classes unless they are specifically designated as ‘adults only’.

  1. Enrolment Procedures
Adults wishing to study at the VSL should contact the relevant VSL Centre to check if adult classes are available.
  2. If approved, complete the online enrolment process.
  3. An acknowledgement email will be sent with an attached form. Once payment is made, enrolment is complete, and access to the course will be granted.

Cost
Adults in VCE or country classes: $220.
